Art and Wendy Merkley and staff welcome you to Andress Boat Works Marina and RiverRock Shoppe with
groceries, convenience items, ice-cream shop, coffee bar, fresh made sandwiches and much, much more.
A place where you will get value for your dollar and friendly helpful service all the time. Our people enjoy
people and our goal is for our customers to enjoy their time in Rockport, on the St. Lawrence River
and the 1000 Islands.
Andress Boat Works is a family business, rich in boat building history, located on the quaint, historic
village of Rockport, Ontario on the St. Lawrence River in the heart of the
1000 Islands.
We are very pleased to offer a wonderful waterfront home for rent. The RiverRock House is a fully
equipped home, on the shore of the St. Lawrence River overlooking the heart of the 1000 Islands.
Check out our lodging and view this charming home with amazing views
of the river. A great balance of activity and relaxation opportunity awaits you with the RiverRock House.
We also have RiverRock Suite, a cozy full loft overlooking the St. Lawrence River.
Navigate your way here by boat or car or even cycle along the picturesque
bike path along the 1000 Island Parkway. There is something for everyone at Andress Boat Works.
Our Marina is a full service, deep-water port, short term docking and easy access to village facilities
Andress Boat Works Marina is open 7 days a week during the boating season and offers services for all
boaters as well as a reporting station for Canada Customs.
You may recall the new mural that was added in 2009, depicting the Rockport History of Wooden Boat
Building by W.E. Andress & Son. The community has been very busy this past year and in
addition to this painted mural there are now several historic photomurals and steel interpretive
signs located throughout the village depicting more the great history of this small village. Walking
paths have been created to guide visitors throughout the village.
Visit our RiverRock Shoppe upstairs and take time to explore as you
are bound to miss something. There are a variety of great gift ideas and
new creations for local artisans. In 2011 we welcomed two local artists with oil and
watercolour paintings. We are now an outlet for "Local Flavours" with our recognition for
carrying fresh vegetables, local honey, home baking, and a variety of local meat cuts. There is
everything you need for a summer barbecue in the store. Yes even propane and charcoal.
Our special flavour is our focus on local products, which includes a selection of
hand made items from local artist partners. Pottery, paintings,
photographs, woodcarvings, local lavender products, jewellery and much more.
Ask our friendly staff about arranging a private island tour in a
wooden boat, a fishing guide or a scuba
diving excursion.
Learn about our history of boat building and see an Andress built 100+-year-old skiff and our
memory wall.
There is docking for transient over night stays, some with hydro and of course seasonal docking. Low
water is never a problem at our docks.
Andress Boat Works and Rockport are worth finding; we know you will want to visit again and again.
